Inaugural Speech of President Darren

District Governor Melvin Tiongson (and spouse), District Rotaract Chairman Danny Yang, Pres. Edsel Dominado of Rotary Club of Cabanatuan City, Pres. Nita Wycoco of Innerwheel Club of Cabanatuan, District Officers, Our Mentors, Distinguished guests, Good Evening!

“Induction signifies the start of another year of service for our community and for our people.”

Rotaract Club of Cabanatuan City once again reaches a new milestone in its pursuit of excellence. “Excellence in leadership, character in leadership” Our sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Cabanatuan City expects her sons and daughters to excel in whatever endeavor we may venture into, and be able to stand firm to her motto “Service above Self” and ours “Fellowship through Service”. Expectations must not only meet the standard but excellence in all should be our way of life as young community builders of our society.

Our club is currently facing a huge challenge, the challenge of strengthening its foundation that will last through time. I remember the phrase “keep moving forward!” it may seem self-explanatory but it cannot really be understood if it will not be practiced or internalized. Though our lives as leaders are filled with ups and downs, these are not hindrances for us to stop from believing that we could lead people toward positive change.

Our theme for this year: “Building Communities, Bridging Continents” is an enormous statement, but possible to achieve; if we will work hand in hand, by consolidated and cooperative minds and hearts. It may seem difficult but for the “hope and future of our motherland”, it poses as a challenge for us to achieve, a duty to be accomplished and a worthwhile undertaking to pursue that we may be proud of as “builders of our communities and ambassadors of continents”.

The new leadership of our club further encourages the entire Rotary family to become a dynamic part of our development as an emerging force of young leaders.

To my fellow Rotaractors from our district as well as from the whole world, may we have the nerve to chase the shadowy future and the strength to forge new perspective toward change.

Through it all, we know so much is expected from us. We do not promise anything more so everything. What we need to do is to push our club a little further and take our part as a living contribution to the legacy of Rotary in honor of those who sweat on it before us. Our vision cannot even guarantee a better destiny but allow us to try and begin. Hope, trust, and confidence will lead us to the revitalization of our commitment to the community.

Good Evening and God bless us all!

RAC Cabanatuan City Charter President Darren J. Gonzales
